Who am i?
Gianpio Cappucci. I’m from Italy, I’m 43 years old, and I’m a tango dancer, teacher, and DJ. I started dancing tango in 2009 after a trip to Argentina. For the next 6 years, until 2016, Buenos Aires became my home. The year 2011 was a turning point; I began collaborating with the DNI Tango school right there in Buenos Aires. For the next 5 years, I danced and taught there, building up my experience.
I’ve been living in Kraków since February 2017. At first, I danced with Aneta Orlik, and together we refined the TTC technique from the DNI Tango school. I’m also seeking a fresh perspective on dance by collaborating with various teachers known in Poland and around the world. In 2018, Aneta and I founded a new tango school in Kraków… Volver Casa de Tango.
How do i teach?
Having good basic is very important. Thats why I really care that all the students, no matter the level and the experience, can learn through the essential knowledge we need to make strong our dance.
Posture, axis, embrace and communication with the partner are priorities we have since the first steps, learning the first elements. Then going deeper understanding the music, being more creative, improving our technique with more detailed explanations.
Using DIRECTIONS, recognizing POSITIONS, solving SITUATIONS. That’s the way your dance will be built. Slowly, with passion and dedication.
One of my main goals is preparing the students to feel themselves even more confident and comfortable once they go to milonga and their body consciousness.
Where do i teach?
Volver Casa de Tango is a cozy house located at 26 Barska Street in the Dębniki district of Kraków. It is situated close to the Old Town and Kazimierz, near the Vistula River, and is easily accessible by public transportation.
I ran the school together with Aneta Orlik from 2018 until the end of summer 2019. The school’s mission is to share knowledge and contribute to the development of Kraków’s tango community. The name “Volver” means “to return”—to home, to friends, to oneself. We share this feeling so that each of you will want to return to Volver.
